Roxy Square (1984)

The land by which Roxy Square stands on today used to be occupied by Roxy Theatre or Roxy Cinema which was owned by the Shaw Brothers. Roxy Theatre was sold away in 1978 and in 1984, Roxy Square, a seventy-seven million dollar projected was completed. A four star hotel, Roxy Century Park Hotel, present day Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel (In 2007, the hotel enjoyed a high average occupancy rate (AOR) of 92.5%), as well as Roxy Square II, is part of current holdings.

Today, Roxy Square is comprised of mainly service sector businesses which include maid agencies, tuition services and beauty services (hair salons and nail parlors).

    oh dear do i remember this place.
    used to drop by this place quite regularly when i still stayed here in this little red dot. i’ve since moved back to UK but i remember my wife and i would come by for a stroll and the movies once in awhile…

    i certainly remember coming over to roxy and the surrounding areas with my wife on weekends when i still stayed in that little red dot. we’ve sinced moved back to UK but those days with my wife were one of the happiest.
